CONTACTLESS CURBSIDE PICKUP AT THE WOONSOCKET HARRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY
While the library remains closed to the public until further notice, you may now place system-wide holds using the Ocean State Libraries online catalog, by calling us, or by using our online form (all information is listed below). Please note that delivery for system-wide holds will be delayed, as the delivery service and some libraries are working with limited staff and hours of operation.
WE WANT TO GET BOOKS INTO THE HANDS OF OUR READERS SOONER!
You can obtain library materials by using one of these methods:
1.) Use the online catalog at https://catalog.oslri.net/ and select “Woonsocket Harris Public Library” in the dropdown menu to pick up your items at our library. You may place up to 10 items on hold via the online catalog.
2.) Go online using this Google form: https://tinyurl.com/WoonsocketLibraryRequestForm. There is a limit of 5 items using this form.
3.) Call a Librarian : To speak directly with a librarian, please call 401-767-4124 for the Reference Department for Adult item requests, 401-767-4122 for Children’s item requests, or 401-767-4132 for Teen item requests. There is a limit of 5 item when calling.
Once your requested items are ready, we will call you to set up an appointment for contactless curbside pickup, which is scheduled every 20 minutes Monday- Friday between 10 am-12 pm and 2 pm-4 pm. Same day pickup is not available. All items are sanitized and quarantined for at least 24 hours. Staff follow recommended health guidelines, safety precautions and physical distancing. Staff are working in the library Monday-Friday from 9 am-5 pm.

BOOK AND MEDIA RETURNS:
We are accepting returns in the drive-up book drop Monday-Friday from 9:30 am-4:30 pm. Due dates are extended to July 1, 2020. We will start accepting DVDs, audiobooks and music CDs in the outside book drop on June 22nd. Please place all media in a plastic bag and secure with rubber bands before returning in the book drop. All items are quarantined for a minimum of 24 hours before being checked in off of your library account. We are not accepting any donations at this time. Please do not place donations in the book drop or by the front entrance door.
VIRTUAL PROGRAMS AND FREE ONLINE LIBRARY RESOURCES:
We are here for you online 24/7! Please like and follow us on Facebook and Instagram, subscribe to our YouTube channel, and find all of our virtual programs archived in Google Classroom. Check with us often for engaging and fun virtual program offerings such as story times, crafts, STEAM activities, music, book talks and more.
AskRI has free online resources for Ocean State Library card holders such as as online magazines from Flipster and technology classes offered by Udemy. For kids, there is free access to Tumblebooks! Check out AskRI today!
Ebooks, audiobooks and live movie streaming can be found here on RIEzone.
For a limited time, you will have free remote access to Ancestry.com at home. You will need your library card and pin code to access the Ancestry library edition.
UPDATE 6/21/20: NEW INFORMATION! The library will offer limited in-person notary, printing and copying services by appointment only. This service will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays only from noon-1:45 pm in the main program room. To schedule one of these services, please speak directly with a Reference Librarian by calling 401-767-4124. Notary services are free. Copies are .20 cents per page for black&white and .30 cents per page for color. Printing is .25 cents per page for black&white or color. Please bring $1 bills or quarters only. We cannot make change. Signage will direct you to enter the library through the program room side door. We ask that you wear a mask and adhere to social distancing protocol. Only 5 patrons and 2 library staff members (7 people total) will be allowed in the program room at any given time. There is a 15 minute time limit in the building.
