Edible Landscaping

Wild Food foraging doesn’t have to take place far from home or in the deep forest! Join The 3 Foragers as they discuss trees, weeds, and plants that many people are using at home in their yard for landscaping that have surprisingly edible parts. You’ll recognize many of the weeds you have been pulling out and learn ways to incorporate them into your dinner. This program is for adults ages 18+.

Beekeeping for Adults

Normand Peloquin of Celestial Offerings will talk about the science and art of beekeeping. This program is for adults and teens. We have another program for kids and bees with Normand on Thursday Sept 13th 6-7pm. Have you always wanted to be a beekeeper? What do beginners need to know. Already and expert? Discuss your bee topics with Normand. Find out about the importance of pollinators in our ecosystem. Learn about the different types of local honey our bees produce and more. Part of our free Explore Earth programming.

Explore Earth: Our Changing Planet is a traveling exhibition for libraries. Explore Earth is part of the STAR Library Education Network (STAR_Net) led by the National Center for Interactive learning at the Space Science Institute. Exhibit partners include the American Library Association, The Lunar and Planetary Institute, and Afterschool Alliance. Explore earth is supported through a grant from the National Science Foundation. Additional programs supported by the Friends of the Woonsocket Harris Public Library.
