Aside from our vast catalog of books and media, the Woonsocket Harris Public Library is an eventful place filled with opportunities to meet like-minded people or introduce yourself to new interests. We have a constantly updated list of events for children, teens, and adults that vary in topic and style, ensuring that everyone can find a great fit and attend a fun and fulfilling event or group meeting.

French Canadian presentation runs 1-2:30pm., Dr. Leslie Choquette, Director of the French Institute, Assumption College, Worcester, Massachusetts and author Jackie Finn. Book is titled: From Habitants to Immigrants: The Sansoucys, the Harpins, and the Potvins. This is the story of the lives of two, eventually three, French Canadian families from their settlement by soldiers in the Richelieu Valley of Quebec in 1665 to their immigration to the mill towns of Massachusetts at the turn of the twentieth century. Located in the children’s program room. This is a new interactive storytime program that can be enjoyed by children ages 3-5 of all abilities and sensibilities with their adult caregiver. Sing our hello song, read a story, do fingerplays like Itsy Bitsy spider, and tell a story with our felt board. Then visit our sensory exploration stations. Register by calling 769-9044 x2 Walk-ins are welcome as long as there is space in the room. Cancellations will be posted on our Facebook page. Those who are registered will receive a phone call.

This sensory play program can be enjoyed by children of all ages, abilities and sensibilities with their adult caregiver. Science Fridays 11:00 am

This is a hands on interactive program appropriate for children ages 8 and up with an adult caregiver. There will be a different topic explored each week. Toddler & Pre-K
In order to cater to a broad audience and include interests for everyone We offer a multitude of programs, events, and regularly recurring classes for children in the toddler & pre-k age range. Programs include story time, music, puzzle time and more.
School Age Programs
For children ages 5+ and for those in first and second grade, we have programs which aim to occupy their attention and inspire creative thinking!
There is always some form of special event going on for children. We feature craft days, special holiday events, and performance events! All geared towards developing key skills in a fun environment!
