Our Upcoming Events

Aside from our vast catalog of books and media, the Woonsocket Harris Public Library is an eventful place filled with opportunities to meet like-minded people or introduce yourself to new interests. We have a constantly updated list of events for children, teens, and adults that vary in topic and style, ensuring that everyone can find a great fit and attend a fun and fulfilling event or group meeting.

Live & Learn is a social program for people with early memory loss offering new ways to compensate for memory changes. We will put your creation on display until the next Lego Club meets. As these are the smaller Legos, an adult must be with the child in the room at all times for safety.

Using iPads, participants will be able to take pictures of clouds (weather permitting) and then come inside and match the types of clouds they see to our STARNet Cloud Activity Cards. Then use the photo editor on the iPad to outline your cloud or make drawings or faces of your cloud. Your image will be printed or emailed to you the following week, as the program ends at 4:45 and the library closes at 5pm on Fridays. Sign up is requested as iPads are limited in number. Children attending 1st & 2nd grade will read with a teen buddy. This is an opportunity for the children to practice their reading skills in a relaxed environment. The teens will earn community service hours for the time they volunteer. There is also a time for coloring and puzzles .Registration is required for both teens and children.
