Meet the real-live celebrity pup with Author Elly (originally from RI) reading her Schmitty The Weather Dog: Daydream book and NYC Musical Meteorologist Ron leading the fun weather sing-along, all to inspire kids and their families to get excited about literacy and summer reading. National Park Ranger Julie Riendeau will be here to demonstrate how environmental pollution has consequences for the earth and animals using large plastic scene-scape of a city farm. Appropriate for all ages.
Woonsocket Water Department’s Dan Darling will talk about water conservation and has kits for Woonsocket Residents. Collin will be in the back of the room doing water science fun experiments with kids and families like ocean in a bottle and making a thermometer out of a water bottle.
City of Woonsocket Trash and Recycling department Mike D shows families how they can save planet earth by recycling at home.
Brian Kemper of Mobile Quest will present Underwater Labs. In this lesson we talk about the effect we are having on the Ice Cap, and what we can do to help prevent further melting. participants then get to build and design waterproof labs. Appropriate for teens 11 and up.
