Bees for Kids

Kids 8 & up and families can learn about how bees make honey, how beekeepers raise bees, and the process of pollination from flowers to fruits. Why are bees important? How can we help them thrive? Don’t worry there will be no stinging in this program! Normand Peloquin from Celestial Offerings will be here to answer your buzzing questions about bees. Identifying Clouds with iPads
Sep 14 @ 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm

Using iPads, participants will be able to take pictures of clouds (weather permitting) and then come inside and match the types of clouds they see to our STARNet Cloud Activity Cards. Then use the photo editor on the iPad to outline your cloud or make drawings or faces of your cloud. Your image will be printed or emailed to you the following week, as the program ends at 4:45 and the library closes at 5pm on Fridays. Sign up is requested as iPads are limited in number.

Animal Tracking Program
Sep 28 @ 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm

Great for ages 8 & up with adult. Learn all about wild animals that live near you from Park Ranger Julie! What common animals can you see in RI and MA? What are their habitats, what do they eat and where do they live? What tracks to they make. Make your own animal track using plaster of paris and a rubber mold. Participants will be able to take home a mold. Space is limited to 12 participants making molds. Sign up at the children’s desk 769-9044 x2. Walk-ins will be welcome so long as there is space in the room. Part of our free Explore Earth STEAM programming.
