As part of the Woonsocket Education Departments “Be Here” Campaign, the Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patrick McGee will be at the Woonsocket Harris Public Library November 7, 2018 at 6:15-7:15pm
to talk about the importance of children attending school every day.
Chronic absenteeism has reached an all-time high in our schools. According to Dr. McGee, “In order for any student to be successful in school, they have to be in school.” The success of every child’s education is “Recognizing the importance of children being in school and being with their classmates and teachers.”
Dr. McGee will be at the library to talk with families about this important issue. He will speak about how the education department is working on this important issue and what families can do at home to support “Be Here.”
Parents bring your children to this event!
Free children’s books will be available to all who attend this program. There will also be a coloring craft and activity for children to entertain children who come with their parents.
Light Refreshments including party pizza and water and other snacks will be served.

Week long Holiday Book Sale in the main program room during open library hours, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am-9pm; Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm.
Monthly Book Club meeting date change from Wednesday, November 21st to November 26th at 7pm in the Woonsocket Room.
