Gladys Cole is a children’s theatre teacher, director, and playwright in Rhode Island. She worked on more than 150 shows and is the founder of G. Cole Productions. A musical theatre production company for children. She is excited to participate for the second year in a row with OLIS summer reading program A Universe of Stories. Gladys is offering two programs for children and teens. Introduction to Theatre class is designed for kids with little to no experience in acting.
Appropriate for children entering grades kindergarten-5 . Registration is required for this program. Registration for summer programs begins on Tuesday 6/25/19.Please call the Children’s room at 769-9044 Ext.2

A real space station astronaut reads “Ava Twist Scientist” from space. After the story we will do a space themed craft like making space shuttles & rockets out of paper and doing a sink and float guessing activity. 3-4pm Monday August 19th Great for ages 3.5 and up with adult.
Author and RI educator Dana Gambardella reads from her two stories Mama Bear’s Magic and Grandma’s House. In Mama Bear’s Magic, Tiny Bear overcomes his apprehension for the bath because of Brother Bear’s modeling and Mama Bear’s clever approach. You can then tap into your own senses and experiences when the author’s memories of what she feels, tastes, smells, and sees come alive in Grandma’s House. Tuesday August 20th 2-3 pm Great for ages 3.5 and up with adult.

Author April M. Cox will be here with her book The Little Labradoodle : Puppy Pickup Day. Summary: Join the tiniest pup in a heartwarming story you and your kids can enjoy together about being brave in new experiences, dealing with bullies, and learning to accept yourself.
