This is a hands on interactive program appropriate for children ages 8 and up with an adult caregiver. There will be a different topic explored each week. Such topics will be Astronomy, making Solar Ovens, Geoscience and more. Come join the fun! Registration is required. Registration for all Summer programs begins on Tuesday 6/25. There will be cookie cutters, rolling pins etc. to use. Registration is required so that there is enough materials for everyone. Registration begins Tuesday,6/25/19. Open to caregivers and those experiencing memory loss.  Meets in the main program room when the library is open. Live & Learn is a social program for people with early memory loss offering new ways to compensate for memory changes. Thursday August 8th 2-3pm Henna art will be limited to 10 participants due to time and number of cones available. Ms. Pinky will be here to do the henna hand designs. There will also be designs you can practice with on paper before using the cones yourself and create your own hand designs. There will be a few cones at the end for participants to try on their own hands. Light snacks, fruit juice, cookies and music from India. A real space station astronaut reads  “Ava Twist Scientist” from space. After the story we will do a space themed craft like making space shuttles & rockets out of paper and doing a sink and float guessing activity. 3-4pm Monday August 19th Great for ages 3.5 and up with adult.

Author and RI educator Dana Gambardella reads from her two stories Mama Bear’s Magic and Grandma’s House. In Mama Bear’s Magic, Tiny Bear overcomes his apprehension for the bath because of Brother Bear’s modeling and Mama Bear’s clever approach. You can then tap into your own senses and experiences when the author’s memories of what she feels, tastes, smells, and sees come alive in Grandma’s House. Tuesday August 20th 2-3 pm Great for ages 3.5 and up with adult. Curriculum connections also available for teachers who want to add to their classroom library.
