3-4:30 Spring Storytellers

Open to teens in middle and high school. This program offered at the library by Community Care Alliance teaches teens basic theater and improv acting. They come up with ideas for skits and act them out at the library. Snacks are provided.   Program usually meets in the large program room next to the restrooms. Occasionally the program may be found in the children’s room ask at the desk if you are unsure.

Open to students in Middle School and High School this free ongoing event takes place every Friday and is a program in which teens can hangout with other teens, play games, and have snacks.  The teen librarian Ed is in the room at all times and make sure the electronic games and table top games are enjoyed by all participants who wish to play.  Walk-ins welcome so long as there is space in the room for more details call 401-769-9044 x3 or email teens@woonsocketlibrary.org Should there be a cancellation due to weather or other events it will be posted on Facebook. 12p Teen Advisory Board to help us plan events for teens

Open to middle and high school students, this advisory club is not to advise teens but for the teens to advise us librarians on programs they would like to see at the library and how we can implement them.  We will go over past event and things we could do and would like to do. Teens will get to choose the prizes for the purple prize box for the summer reading game. Pizza and water will be served and we will play some fun games. Teens get community service for this event for school.

2pm Mad Science Show

Monday February 16th at 2-3pm Join us for an educational program about science. Free tickets given out Starting Monday February 9th. Call 401-769-9044 x2 to reserve your ticket by phone. People with tickets go to the front of the line after that first come first serve until the room fills up. Once the room fills up or the show starts, we reserve the right to stop entry into the room for  safety.

Takes place during school vacation week. Kids ages 8 & up and Teens in middle and high school are invited to make something tasty at the library. Maggie from the Lazy Girl’s Kitchen YouTube page will be here to teach us what we are making. Right now Maggie is looking over her recipes and will get back to us with what we will be cooking up.

Come to a drop in information session on the library’s digital archives compiling the Woonsocket Call from 1900-1975. Learn how to utilize this resource including searching techniques, how to access it anywhere with internet, and navigating through the site. Call 401-767-4124 for more information.
