3-4:30 Spring Storytellers

Open to teens in middle and high school. This program offered at the library by Community Care Alliance teaches teens basic theater and improv acting. They come up with ideas for skits and act them out at the library. Snacks are provided.   Program usually meets in the large program room next to the restrooms. Occasionally the program may be found in the children’s room ask at the desk if you are unsure.

3-4:30pm Teen Time

10-12pm Linda Brunetti Autism Project Table

Every Monday Linda Brunetti from The Autism Project is here at a table in the children’s room preschool area to talk with parents about services Autism Project provides. Feel free to stop at the table and say hello. During her visit we will open the children’s program room for a sensory exploration play where parents and kids can play with toys that develop fine and gross motor skills. Toys are geared to the preschool age.

3-4p Beginner Water Colors with Lee

Mondays @ 3-4pm Great for ages 7-10 July 7 July 14 July 21 July 28 Registration is required so that we have enough pallets and brushes for all participants. We provide all the materials you need. If you want to bring your own water colors that is fine. Parent does not need to be in the room the entire time but must be in the library. Looking for something for younger kids? 3-4p Jedi Academy

Open to Middle and High School Students Build a safe saber using pvc pipe, foam insulation, and colorful duct tape. Library provides all the materials. It is free to join. Just bring yourself and if you want to have even more fun bring a  friend so that you can test your saber and battle with your friend at the end of the program. After building your saber, Ed will teach you the forms for defense (Jedi) and attack (Sith) and battle with a friend.

2:30-4p Kids Crafternoon

Tuesday Crafternoon For Kids at the Library July 8, 15, 22, 29 August 5 & 12 2:30-4:00 Great for ages 5-10 with adult. Make a craft! 3-4:30 Teen Role Playing Game

Before coming to the library, check in with Teen Services librarian Ed Fuqua to make sure there is space in the room. The game continues over weeks and there maybe times it is not easy for a new comer to join in also.   Usually takes place in the large program room next to the bathrooms but on occasion may be located in theh children’s program room. Ask at the desk if you are unsure.

10-12p Wednesday Sensory Play

Come and join us for two hours of sensory play with toys and puzzles. Enjoyable for preschoolers ages 2-5 of all abilities and sensibilities with their adult caregiver. We try to put out puzzles and toys that promote the use of fine motor skills and creativity. June 4, 18, July 2, 16, 30 August 13, 27 Drop-in and leave anytime between 10am -12pm   Note: This program alternates with Anne Marie Forer’s family music for preschool families. Crafty Kids Wednesday Each week explores a different type of art and artist From 3-4pm. Great for ages 8-12. Teens ages 13-17 can volunteer for school community service credit.   July 9th                  3-D Printing with Dan July 16th                Splatter Paint like Jackson Pollock July 23rd                Sculpting with Clay July 30th                Working with water colors August 6th             Framed Mosaic Cloth Art August 13th          Markers Picasso Style August 20th          You be the artist   Things will get messy!
