3-4:30 Teen Role Playing Game

Before coming to the library, check in with Teen Services librarian Ed Fuqua to make sure there is space in the room. The game continues over weeks and there maybe times it is not easy for a new comer to join in also.   Usually takes place in the large program room next to the bathrooms but on occasion may be located in theh children’s program room. Ask at the desk if you are unsure.

10-12p Wednesday Sensory Play

Come and join us for two hours of sensory play with toys and puzzles. Enjoyable for preschoolers ages 2-5 of all abilities and sensibilities with their adult caregiver. We try to put out puzzles and toys that promote the use of fine motor skills and creativity. Drop-in and leave anytime between 10am -12pm. Must be with an adult caregiver at all times.

3-4:30 Spring Storytellers

Open to teens in middle and high school. This program offered at the library by Community Care Alliance teaches teens basic theater and improv acting. They come up with ideas for skits and act them out at the library. Snacks are provided.   Program usually meets in the large program room next to the restrooms. Occasionally the program may be found in the children’s room ask at the desk if you are unsure.

Open to students in Middle School and High School this free ongoing event takes place every Friday and is a program in which teens can hangout with other teens, play games, and have snacks.  The teen librarian Ed is in the room at all times and make sure the electronic games and table top games are enjoyed by all participants who wish to play.  Walk-ins welcome so long as there is space in the room for more details call 401-769-9044 x3 or email teens@woonsocketlibrary.org Should there be a cancellation due to weather or other events it will be posted on Facebook. Read To A Dog Storm: The Alaskan Malamute Hi!  My name is Storm.  I am a 2 year old Alaskan Malamute. 10-12pm Linda Brunetti Autism Project Table

Every Monday Linda Brunetti from The Autism Project is here at a table in the children’s room preschool area to talk with parents about services Autism Project provides. Feel free to stop at the table and say hello. During her visit we will open the children’s program room for a sensory exploration play where parents and kids can play with toys that develop fine and gross motor skills. Toys are geared to the preschool age.

Our 1 on 1 sessions will show you how to take advantage of the library's free apps to borrow ebooks and audiobooks from the comfort of your home. Sessions will be offered biweekly starting January 13th. Appointments will be limited to 30 minutes. Call the reference desk at 401-767-4124 to sign up.
