3-4:30pm Teen Storytellers Learn to Act

Geared towards ages 11-18. Come to the library for a theatre class run by Community Care Alliance! This class focuses on skill-building through learning storytelling techniques. Young actors will create their own characters through playwriting and performance games and will eventually build their own story together. Open to students in Middle School and High School this free ongoing event takes place every Friday and is a program in which teens can hangout with other teens, play games, and have snacks.  The teen librarian Ed is in the room at all times and make sure the electronic games and table top games are enjoyed by all participants who wish to play.  Walk-ins welcome so long as there is space in the room for more details call 401-769-9044 x3 or email teens@woonsocketlibrary.org   Should there be a cancellation due to weather or other events it will be posted on […] ...

4pm Halloween Party Treats

Wednesday October 11th  4-4:45pm Gummy worm dirt cups Chocolate & vanilla pudding with chocolate and vanilla cookie crumbles and assorted gummy candies and sprinkles. Bloody Orange Drink Sprite, Orange Drink, Orange Sherbet, Gummy Eyeballs and worms. Sprinkles. Great for ages 8 & up only with adults as this is a cooking class. We will make these treats as part of the program. People with chocolate allergies take note. No nuts associated with this program though it is possible an ingredient may be manufactured in a plant that produces nuts, like vanilla cookies.  Registration by phone is requested. 401-769-9044 x2 ...

3-4pm Teen Halloween Paint

Open to Middle and High School Students, teens may paint a wooden sugar skull for Day of the Dead or Halloween. We provide the materials including paints, brushes wooden sugar skulls, glitter, and gloves. Be prepared to take your art work home. Sign up is suggested as we only have 10 wooden sugar skulls. Walk-ins are welcome. We do have some non-Halloween items to paint provided by Pepin Lumber. This program is just for teens. We have another paint program for younger kids on October 24th. ...

Wednesday October 18th 4-4:45pm   We have all the ingredients you will need. There will be a basic slime recipe and special Halloween bits you can add to your slime. 1:30-3:30 HalloweenFest

  1:30-3:30 on Saturday October 21st. Great for ages 2 and up with adult caregiver. Program is indoors so it is rain or shine! Face painting, games, prizes, crafts and a costume parade around the library.  We use the entire children’s room during this event so some services like the children’s computers may be unavailable during this time. Teens 13-17! We offer community service credit for school or organization for this event.
