Pow Science Volcanoes

Earthquakes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions! Kids model and demonstrate the phenomena that shape our ever-changing planet while learning about plate tectonics, meteorology, air pressure and more!

Every participant makes and keeps their very own erupt-able Volcano! Volcanoes can’t be erupted the day of the program (they need time to harden), so we bring a larger version of our own to erupt as the big finish to the program.

This program is appropriate for children ages 8 -12 with an adult caregiver. Registration is required. Registration for Summer programs begin on Tuesday 6/25. You may call the Children’s room at 401-769-9044 Ext.2

G. Cole Intro to Theatre

Gladys Cole is a children’s theatre teacher, director, and playwright in Rhode Island. She worked on more than 150 shows and is the founder of G. Cole Productions. A musical theatre production company for children. She is excited to participate for the second year in a row with OLIS summer reading program A Universe of Stories. Gladys is offering two programs for children and teens. Introduction to Theatre class is designed for kids with little to no experience in acting.

Writer’s Workshop

Writer’s Workshop held in the Woonsocket Room to network, help cultivate writers and offer research skills for those interested in writing. Open to high school students and adults. Must contact the group leader first to reserve a spot in the workshop, call John Peacock at 401-332-8323. Workshop will be held twice a month in September, October and November.
